3.3v regulator overheating

I installed Bowmans ja1 forth and immediately one of the 3.3v regulators became hot. The one near the blue LED. Any suggestions.

Hi @AdrianB,

Welcome to the forum!

I am not familiar with the forth project you are mentioning. It is possible it is not correctly set up for the iCEBreaker board. For example if the UART pins are set up wrong you could be sinking a lot of current if one side pulls high and the other low. Make sure it is correctly configured and synthesized to run on the iCEBreaker.

It is possible that the iCEBreaker you have has some issue. But that is rather unlikely as we test all the hardware before shipping. Especially considering that the overheating issue appears when you load a specific bitstream.

If you can provide more information about what you are trying to do we will try to help.
